### Applied Math

Algebra comes from the Greeks and Islamic empire, where it was invented to help keep track of things like land measurements and inheritance. It uses numbers and variables to create abstract descriptions of real things. In this course, you will learn about and understand how to represent ideas in abstract form, develop your qualitative and quantitative reasoning skills, and develop your pattern recognition skills, amongst other things.

### Geometry

The geometry that we practice and are most familiar with comes from the Greeks, who were keen on establishing definitions stemming from very clear, logical statements. Geometry deals largely with shapes and space. In this course you will learn about and understand how to form and apply logical arguments, develop skills related to 2D plane and 3D solid geometry, and determine the probability an event will occur, amongst other things.
